Well, our little neck of the woods has been made temporarily famous with a mystery fit for a CSI episode. The Illawarra Mercury has covered it in its
usual way. But the weekend saw coverage in Saturday's
Herald and Sunday's
Sun Herald. And on National Nine News (including an eyewitness account from a parishioner!).
So what happened? We don't know. But a mentally ill bloke stole a taxi, drove it off a cliff, and walked away with barely an injury. He was located because of the camera in the taxi and the fact he was already on bail for setting his unit alight earlier this year.
But as Police were investigating, they found a body 100m away also at the base of the cliff. Apparently the bloke, a 24 year old from the region, was a suicide and unrelated.
Meanwhile, Warilla, Barrack Point ('famous' as footballer Trent Barrett's home) and Shellharbour are having their 2 seconds of fame.
The CoastalRevs went to Jamberoo for church yesterday morning to see the congregation and be seen. A very encouraging time.
